ANAHEIM, Calif. (September 21, 2021) – Anaheim PD homicide detectives have arrested 22-year-old Christian Alberto Nava, an Anaheim resident, for the June murder of a 17-year-old Anaheim boy.
On Sunday, June 27, 2021, at about 12:22 a.m. Johnny Avalos was shot and killed in the 2200 block of W. Colchester Drive in Anaheim.
Over the course of the past three months, detectives continually investigated the homicide and eventually identified Nava as the suspect.
On Friday, September 17, 2021, investigators located and arrested Nava in the area of Katella Avenue and Lewis Street in Anaheim. Nava was taken into custody without incident and was booked into the Anaheim Detention Facility for murder.
Nava is being held in lieu of $1 million and has since been transferred to Orange County Jail.
